This course is offered at our Millfield and Titanic Campus' The Level 3 Extended Diploma in IT is a nationally recognised vocationally specific qualification to enable progression to higher education qualifications. The course has been developed in the areas of Computing and IT Systems and focuses on education and training for future IT specialists who wish to be
employed in a variety of computing and technical work, such as programming, technical support, network support, IT technician, helpdesk technician,
systems analysis and web site development etc.

Units include: Website development; Computer Operating Systems and Hardware; Computer Graphics and Animation;
Programming in a Variety of Languages; Troubleshooting, Computer Networks, Business Systems, Systems Life Cycle.
If required, you will also undertake Essential Skills in Literacy and Numeracy.

Additional Information
Assessments will involve assignments, practicals, projects and class tests. During pre-entry and guidance, staff will discuss with you the most appropriate pathway for you at this level.

Entry Requirements
Requirements are pre-defined by the College's admissions criteria which are outlined at the beginning of this prospectus. Preference may be given to those with Level 2 in Literacy and Numeracy at Grade C or equivalent.

Where will this course take you
You may progress onto HND Computing and System Development, Foundation Degree Software Engineering, university degree courses or employment in the IT industry.
