Course Overview
This exciting two year programme is equivalent to three A Levels. At the end of year one, you will complete the Level 3 Diploma in Sport and if successful this will allow you to progress onto the Extended Diploma in Sport in year two. You will study a range of practical and theoretical units including: Physiology of Fitness; Fitness Testing; Practical Sport; Current Issues; Leadership in Sport; Exercise, Health and Lifestyle; Sports Injuries; Fitnesss Training; Sports Coaching; Sports Development; Sports Nutrition; Instructing Physical Activity and Exercise; Psychology for Sports Performance; Analysis of Sports Performance and Organising Sports Events.

Entry Requirements
Requirements are pre-defined by the College's admissions criteria which are outlined at the beginning of this document. Applicants to the Sports Academies must attend a series of practical trials.

Where will this course take you
Successful students have the opportunity to seek employment in the sport, leisure and recreation industry in careers such as sports development assistant, fitness consultant, health and physical activity co-ordinator, sports coach or leisure centre assistant, or progress to higher education courses such as the HND in Sports, Coaching and Development,HND in Sports Science or Foundation Degree in Health and Leisure Studies, in addition to an Honours Degree at University.
