The College offers a choice of study pathways, to suit students seeking to develop culinary skills and knowledge in preparation for work as a chef. Course Overview
The College offers a choice of study pathways, to suit students seeking to develop culinary skills and knowledge in preparation for work as a chef. This qualification will provide you with a range of culinary skills covering 16 units including as: Developing Skills for Employment in the Hospitality Industry; Healthier Foods and special Diets; Catering Operations, Costs and Menu Planning; Health and Safety in the Catering and Hospitality Industry; Preparation and Cooking of Soups, Stocks and Sauces; Fruit and Vegetables; Meat and Offal, Poultry; Fish and Shellfish; Rice, Pasta, Grains and Egg dishes; Hot and Cold Desserts; Produce Paste Products; Biscuits Cakes and sponge products and Fermented Dough Products. You will complete the Level 2 Award in Food Safety. Unit assessment is carried out by a combination of externally set assignments and practical examinations.

This course is most suited to students seeking to develop, as well as practical skills, an investigative and theoretical understanding of culinary arts. Students will be invited in to the college to a pre-entry guidance session, to learn more about what the course has to offer, with tutors on hand to answer any questions. This will ensure the best pathway for you.


Entry Requirements
There is an additional cost of approximately £ 180.00 for uniforms.
