You will study one unit (worth three credits). You will learn client care and the importance of communication, the relevance of the consultation process, how to follow health and safety practice in the salon, and a variety of basic pre-bonded added hair techniques to enhance a style.
You will learn by a variety of methods including discussion, activities, lectures and workshops. Assignments and homework will also be set to gain this qualification. The remaining time will be spent within the practical working salon to practice and perform the practical application of the hair enhancement techniques. There is a strong emphasis on working and learning with others and you will be set regular tasks to be completed in partnership with other students on the programme. You will also need to be able to work independently and take responsibility for you own learning.

The qualification will be gained through unit accreditation (three credits) towards the main full level 2 qualification. A VTCT Certificate of unit credits will be available upon successful completion.
You will also develop wider skills vital for success in further study or employment including self-confidence, working with others, taking responsibility and time management. By the end of the course you will have benefited from a valuable insight into future study or other careers available to you.

The course is open to motivated individuals who plan to pursue a career within the hairdressing industry. Your offer is subject to a short interview, full commitment to 100% attendance and a minimum of three hours home study a week (all of which are required to assure successful completion).

Upon successful completion of this course you can progress to the next QCF unit of the full level 2 qualification.
