Important requirements such as Quality of Service, with the focus on the access network are discussed. Finally, it touches on some other voice transport mechanisms.

What can you expect?

  • Understand the principles of circuit switching and packet switching and the interfacing between the two.
  • Understand the necessity and mechanisms of Quality of Service in packet switched networks.
  • Have an overview of the various protocols and standards, their merits and disadvantages.
