Time required and cost
Typically it takes one year part-time study to complete this qualification, but you can take up to four years.

Career impact
The Professional Certificate in Management is a recognised qualification in its own right, and providing you have relevant work experience it can also give access to our MBA.
This certificate is ideal if you are in a first management or supervisory position, or if you are planning to extend your management career. A problem-based approach provides opportunities for you to engage with relevant management issues from your own work context and from case studies.

Entry requirements
There are no formal entry requirements to study this certificate. However, this is a Level 3 certificate. You should ensure that you have adequate study skills, such as gained from Level 1 and 2 study or its equivalent, before you begin.
You need not be currently employed as a manager, however it is recommended that you have some personal knowledge and experience of managing in an organisation. It is not possible to study this certificate without any work experience.
You will however need to be proficient in English, to an IELTS standard of 6.5. If you are unsure you will be able to take a free English test as part of the registration process.
Classification of course
On successful completion of the required modules you will be awarded a Professional Certificate in Management and will be entitled to use the letters Cert Mgmt. (Open) after your name.
If you are intending to gain the Professional Certificate in
Management on your way to completing a degree, you need to
successfully pass all three modules (BZX628, BZX629 and B690) and
be awarded your certificate before you are awarded the degree. This
requirement arises from the University regulations regarding the
amount of credit that you are counting uniquely for each
qualification you get.
Successful completion of the Professional Certificate in Management
allows academic entry onto the Masters in Business Administration,
providing other entry criteria are also met.
