What's New in Microsoft Exchange Sever 2010 First Look and Hands on Lab

Prerequisites:

# Windows Server 2003 or 2008 including directory services.
# Windows XP or Vista and Office/Outlook.
# Windows-based mobile devices and mobile Office/Outlook.
# Asynchronous networking technologies including TCP/IP, messaging transports, remote access, VPNs.
# Storage and Storage Area Networks (SANs), clustering, load balancing.
# Basic virtualization concepts (e.g. VMWare and basic awareness of Hyper-V) but are not experienced with the details of Windows Server Hyper-V.
# General IT operations concepts and procedures including service level management, high availability and disaster recovery, and change management.
# Understand the basics of IT security including network authentication, access control, encryption, edge security, malicious software and anti-virus/anti-spam concepts as well as basic messaging security concepts but they are not experts in security or messaging security/privacy/compliance and do not have more than a cursory awareness of Forefront Security for Exchange.
# Familiar with basic Exchange Management Shell/PowerShell capabilities but they are not familiar with Windows PowerShell 2.0 that is used by Exchange Server 2010 Management Shell.
# The portion of the audience that is still using Exchange 2003 are not familiar with the server roles introduced in Exchange Server 2007.
# Not familiar with Unified Communications technologies/solutions and are not familiar with synchronous communications technologies, VoIP, or voice and data integration technologies.
# Familiar with basic concepts of cloud computing and hosted services but are not familiar with hosted Exchange services.

Course Description:

This clinic describes some of the significant enhancements provided in Exchange Server 2010. It also provides an overall description of the most important design priorities for Exchange 2010. This clinic also provides additional details on the enhancements that the Exchange Server 2010 users and administrators will experience. This session provides a description of how these features work, as well as the information on how to configure these features.

Also included in this session is a description of the new message transport features, the new database and high availability options, and the new administration tools and features. This clinic also provides an overview of the process for upgrading from previous versions of Exchange Server to Exchange Server 2010.

In addition to this the hand's on lab provides an opportunity to configure and validate some of the new features in Exchange Server 2010.
