Internet Technology Fundamentals

Prerequisites:

- No previous experience of the Internet is required
- Delegates must have a working knowledge of the PC and Windows operating environments and an understanding of basic networking principles, which could come from QA-IQ's Network Primer course
- This course is ideal for all IT staff who will be involved in any aspect of Internet development or support. The course is particularly appropriate for those charged with installing and managing Internet connectivity
- Additionally, staff moving into roles involving the provision of Internet/intranet services and content will benefit from the introduction that this course provides

Course Description:

The growth in both the usage and subscriber base of the Internet has been enormous, and most corporates are now looking at how best to provide Internet support for their users. The Internet offers the possibility of electronic communication at low cost to customers, suppliers and partners, whilst giving access to an increasing range of information sources. Many organisations are also looking to provide their own services across the Internet or internal Intranets.

This comprehensive three-day course provides a valuable introduction for companies considering connecting to the Internet or for staff newly assigned to provide Internet support. The course develops from issues involved in connecting to the Internet such as TCP/IP and DNS, to the Internet services, email, the World Wide Web and browser clients, web page design, security issues and an overview of electronic commerce.
