Course Description:

This two day course concentrates on developing professional face and body retouching techniques in Photoshop CS5. The course has been specifically designed for anyone working in a professional capacity in the fashion, glamour, modelling or advertising industries.

The course is also ideal for professional portrait photographers. This is an Adobe authorised course.

This course includes the following modules:

Developing a retouching strategy

  • Ascertaining the level of retouching required

  • Marking up a Body Retouch image
  • Developing a retouching workflow

Correcting tone, exposure and colour

  • Working with RAW files
  • Adopting a non-destructive approach to editing
  • Correcting exposure problems
  • Correcting tone problems
  • Correcting colour problems

Retouching faces

  • Removing distracting elements and backgrounds
  • Lessening facial blemishes
  • Softening lines
  • Smoothing skin tone
  • Accentuating the inner eye - whites, pupils and the iris
  • Enhancing catchlights
  • Reshaping eyes
  • Cleaning eyebrows
  • Building eye lashes
  • Enhancing makeup
  • Building lips and removing lines
  • Removing dark roots
  • Adding hair highlights and lowlights
  • Using the new tools in Photoshop CS5 to make difficult selections (such as hair) more accurate
