Interpreting is meant for students who have a good command of more than one language.

This course was developed to ensure that everyone could have equal access to public services irrespective of their language background.

FEATURES OF THE QUALIFICATION

The course in interpreting is approximately first degree level in terms of the language skills required. We have two specialised options, which are Health and Law in English. These are available in various languages for translating.

FORMAT OF EXAMINATION

Interpreting using consecutive and whispered techniques

  • Sight translation from and into English
  • Written translation from and into English

COURSE STRUCTURE

Full Time -- 15 hours of teaching per week

Part Time -- 3 hours of teaching per week in term time
