You are required to study specific research into; thinking, learning, language, child development, the workings of the brain, sleep and dreams, obedience and authority, discrimination, attitude change, intelligence and abnormal behaviour, to name a few.
A third of the AS course gives you the opportunity to carry out your own research on a chosen topic.
In the second year (A2), You will be carrying out your own investigation about the use of psychology in the everyday world, and Psychology and Health.

What do I need to get on this course?
For the full time A Level programme a minimum of 5 GCSE A-C grades are required, including English.
How will I be assessed?
By examination.
Where does it lead?
Psychology leads to progression into Higher Education on a wide range of degree courses. Alternatively, students go into the following areas of employment:
- Police Force
- Personnel
- Recruitment
- Other people-centred occupations.
