Course Content
Course Content: AS Level Students will study two novels (at least one post - 1990) and two poetry texts from 1800 - 1945. One question will involve comparing aspects of narrative across three texts. Two drama texts from the genre of tragedy (one by Shakespeare) will be studied for coursework. Course Content: A2 Level Students will study at least three texts linked to the genre of the Gothic or the Pastoral. Assessment Method
Year one: 1. Students will sit a two hour examination 2. Students will write two coursework essays totalling 2400 - 3000 words Year two: 3. Students will sit a two hour examination 4. Students will write a comparative coursework essay of 1500 - 2000 words and a further essay of 1200 - 1500 words

English Literature can be used to gain entry to university in combination with other subjects.
