Course content
FdA Professional Education and Training
You will develop knowledge and skills in education and training theories and practices in a professional setting. You will cover planning, organisation, presentation and assessment of education and training for staff in a wide range of workplaces through a number of modules.
Career opportunities
With a government agenda focused upon employability, sustainability and competitive advantage in the global economy, this course will prepare trainees for a diverse range of careers in the public and private sectors, culture, heritage and education settings.
The programme will fully prepare you for education and training roles, for example education officer/manager and training officer/ general manager, mentor, business coach and trainer, either as an employee or as an independent consultant.

Entry Requirements and applying
The programme is open to participants who successfully meet the following criteria for admission:
- 120 UCAS points
- GCSE English or Welsh and Mathematics – minimum grade ‘C’ or minimum Level 2 in Literacy and Numeracy (entry via Access Diploma to Higher Education route), or equivalent
- Evidence of either paid or voluntary employment in an education/training setting for a minimum of 150 hours per annum
- If relevant to the employment setting, require a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS)clearance (previously known as CRB), to demonstrate suitability for working with children, young people and vulnerable adults.
