Summary:
Benchmark what you know, challenge what you think and increase your expertise rapidly at the Business Continuity Summer School - four days, intensive learning and fun, away from the humdrum, in a stunning rural environment. You will gain experience and confidence that could take months or years to acquire - whilst having fun and relaxation with a welcoming team in wonderful surroundings - a unique mix of workshops, briefings and plenary, facilitated by industry experts.
The course will benefit:
Both the relative newcomer and advanced delegates who will improve and hone their skills through practical exercises.
Format
On arrival, you will be allocated to a team. Teams will take on the role of a fictitious organisation, all within the same town or neighbourhood.
With other members of your 'organisation', you will work
together to devise and scope a BCM programme, develop and document
BIAs, formulate strategies and plans, tackling the whole BCM
lifecycle. A neighbourhood-wide scenario will then unfold, testing
your strategy and plans to the limit.
The skills will largely be acquired by doing, but there will be
seminars and case studies on: the BCM Life-cycle, BCM issues
surrounding Viruses, trojans and malicious attack, Handling the
Media, Dealing with Staff in Trauma through death or accident,
Volcanic Ash - Threat or Hoax, and Two Industry Case Studies, Food
Shortage a possibility and a threat to BCM.
On the first night there will be a Bar-B-Q and on the final night
there will be a Gala dinner where the learning will continue
informally, along with light entertainment, food and wine.
Duration: 4 Days
