Assessment:

The NVQ level 3 is a flexible programme in which you build up a portfolio of evidence to prove your ability. You will be guided throughout the assessment process by your course assessor, who will discuss the requirements of the NVQ level 3 qualification with you and draw up an individual action plan for you to follow. In bringing your evidence together, you will be expected to work largely in your own time and will attend college for tutorials and guidance.

Some of the work that you completed whilst studying the NVQ Level 2 may be used as part of your NVQ Level 3 portfolio. As long as the evidence you used to gain the Level 2 is no older than two years then it will be relevant to this higher level qualification.

Academic Progression:

You may want to take your first steps into the professional and managerial levels of the construction industry. A course designed to act as a bridge between craft and professional studies is available and gives you the opportunity to progress to the Edexcel National Certificate in Building Studies, or you may consider undertaking the Certificate and Diploma in Site Management.
