What will I study?This unit is about the communication and use of information to support decision making.
This module focuses on a range of key management areas, which together provide the essential tools to enable students to become effective managers. The participative and engaging class-based sessions provide a blend of theory and practical application, and allow students to develop knowledge and skills that can be directly applied to their work.By undertaking this unit, students will:
- Be able to identify and justify a management project
- Be able to conduct research using sources and analyse data and options
- Be able to make conclusions and recommendations that achieve the project aim
- Be able to show and review the results of the project
Assessment methods can include case studies, role-play, assignments, reports, integrated work activities, projects and presentations. The course leaders will confirm each module and its specific assessment method at induction. Successful completion of the modules will require the student to undertake additional study outside of the taught hours and to complete tasks and assignments to fulfil the assessment requirements of the CMI.
How will the course be delivered?The course will be delivered in our University Centre in Blackburn.
Course Entry RequirementsThere are no formal entry criteria. All potential candidates will be invited to an informal interview to confirm that the course meets your specific development needs. If it doesn’t, we have other courses that will.
The college operates a no refunds policy as detailed below. Cancellations and transfer requests are subject to the following conditions:
- More than 4 weeks notice – no charge
- 4 weeks notice – 30% of the cost
- 2-3 weeks notice – 50% of the cost
- 1-2 weeks notice – 75% of the cost
- Less than 1 weeks notice – 100% of the cost
All cancellations must be made in writing and are subject to a £10 administration charge. The full fee’s policy is available on request.
