Description

Have you always been interested in History but have never studied it formally? Do you think that your English would let you down if you wanted to study History? Would you like to improve your English but hate the thought of formal English lessons? This course could be the one for you. The course will improve your reading, writing and spoken English through the study of History. You will have the opportunity to study various aspects of British History whilst improving your English and gaining a formal qualification in English. Please note this course does not offer a qualification in History.

Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements but you will be assessed on entry to ascertain your level in English. You will then be advised if your level is appropriate for this course. If it is felt that you are not quite at the level required you will be offered another English course to study. This course is designed to help students towards a Level 1 or Level 2 qualification in Functional English so students who already hold a Level 2 or GCSE English would not be suitable for this course.

Delivery & Assessment methods

Assessment will be by external examination and will involve reading, writing and speaking and listening elements.

Progression

You can continue on this course and gain a higher level in English, progress to a GCSE or any other course that you are qualified to undertake.
