This qualification is a national benchmark for those wanting to achieve high level skills for working in a legal or business environment. The course includes training in a wide range of employment skills e.g. proficiency in using Microsoft Office software (transcribing and producing legal/business documents), storage and retrieval systems, communication methods and use of office equipment (photocopiers, fax machines etc). This qualification is a national benchmark for those wanting to achieve high level skills for working in a legal or business environment. The course includes training in a wide range of employment skills e.g. proficiency in using Microsoft Office software (transcribing and producing legal/business documents), storage and retrieval systems, communication methods and use of office equipment (photocopiers, fax machines etc). Students will learn the techniques of proof reading documents in order to produce them to professional standards. In order to complete the qualification at Certificate level, students must successfully complete assignments and tested modules that cover a range of topics including ‘Proofreading Skills’, ‘Audio Transcription’ and business assignments in the ‘Working in the Legal Environment’ module.
Legal Executive/Administrator: Diploma (Level III)
(City & Guilds/Institute of Legal Executives)
This qualification is a progression from the Certificate (Level II) course (outlined above). Students cover similar modules to those undertaken at Certificate level but at advanced level eg: the business assignments will require students to undertake independent research to complete tasks eg: planning, arranging and creating all documentation for an event.
